AMO INTRALASE MODEL 2 FS60 IEK

The IntraLase FS laser differs from other blade-based technologies in many essential ways. By replacing the blade commonly used for corneal flap creation with a femtosecond laser, AMO® has made LASIK eye surgery safer than ever before. The IntraLase FS laser is the first blade-less and most precise modality for corneal flap creation available today. It delivers micron-level accuracy 100 percent greater than a microkeratome for a more accurate and consistent flap thickness. This is critical for a successful LASIK outcome. When used during LASIK, the IntraLase FS laser replaces the handheld microkeratome blade traditionally used during surgery.

Retrospective analysis comparing LASIK results with IntraLase™ FS Technology versus the two leading microkeratomes demonstrated that, IntraLase™ FS Laser System performed better in three areas important to LASIK results and safety:

  1. Flap thickness,
  2. Induced astigmatism, and
  3. Cell injury.

This method is so highly sought after that it used for military pilots and astronauts, who are in need of the clearest, most accurate vision possible.

There are fewer flap-related complications with the IntraLase Method:*

  • Low risk of sight-threatening events (free caps, globe penetration, buttonhole flaps, decentered flaps, and/or incomplete cuts)
  • No risk of corneal abrasion
  • Lowered risk of dry eye

*Only the IntraLase™ FS Laser System can be used to perform the IntraLase Method.
